Frequently Asked Question

  • WHAT KINDS OF PATERNITY TESTS ARE AVAILABLE?
Legal Paternity Test We highly recommend this test, particularly if the child is under 18. Results are admissible in court for various legal purposes, such as amending birth certificates and establishing child support orders. Is the alleged father recently deceased? We can utilize either an FTA blood card sample or a DNA sample from the deceased individual, typically collected by the coroner or funeral home director. There is an additional fee for using these samples. The results from this test are admissible for legal purposes, such as SSI or survivor benefits. If the alleged father is incarcerated or has been deceased for an extended period (body inaccessible), but at least one of his parents is alive and available for testing, then a Grandparentage DNA Test is the most suitable option. Legal paternity can be established through grandparentage testing if grand paternity is confirmed. Non-Legal Peace of Mind Paternity Test If you simply seek the truth and don't require a legally admissible paternity test, this option suits you best. Concerned about the alleged father's awareness or willingness to participate? If you have items like a toothbrush, eating utensils, toothpick, or finger/toe nails, we can use them for DNA testing.
  • HOW DO I GO ABOUT GETTING A DNA TEST
You can schedule your appointment either online or by phone. Upon booking, you'll receive a welcome email from the testing center administrator. On the day of your appointment, ensure to bring valid government-issued photo ID for all individuals aged 18 and over. During the appointment, all involved parties will undergo swabbing. The samples will then be shipped to our accredited laboratory. Test results are typically available within 2 business days and will be sent to you via email or can be reviewed in person at our office.
  • WHAT IF THE SUPPOSED FATHER IS A MINOR?
If the supposed father is a minor, we require consent from a legal guardian. This mandates the guardian's presence at the appointment to authorize the minor's testing in our office.
  • IS IT POSSIBLE TO RECEIVE MY TEST RESULT OVER THE PHONE?
We do not provide test results over the phone. Results will be sent via email, or one of the involved parties can collect them from our office. Alternatively, an appointment can be scheduled for an administrator to disclose the results in person, with all parties present if mediation or counseling is required.
  • WILL MY PRIVACY BE SAFEGUARDED?
Certainly! We prioritize the confidentiality of our clients. Your case information will not be disclosed to anyone without your consent. We adhere to any specific instructions you provide regarding communication with you or other involved parties in your test.
